Spring has Sprung!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!  Apologies for the unconventional greeting but I must share my excitement with you – that same feeling that I seem to share with a lot of people on twitter – that is the excitement of being able to look out of the window and after several gloomy, miserable, grey months the sun is shining, the skies are blue and all is well in the world.  Ok so I may still be wearing 4 layers but that isn’t the point – the sun makes everything look and feel better – gone is the grumpiness, the frustration and annoyance of the constant rain, the unfriendly snow or the biting wind and in comes calm, prettiness, tranquility and your mouth can once again turn up instead of downwards.

Here is my first of a few beauty blogs about all things spring – no, I know – don’t thank me.  I’m just kind like that – whilst my feathers settle into thinner cardigans, tops instead of jumpers and my tootsies into ballet pumps I thought I would let you know my five favourite spring fragrances so you can smell more attractive than pollen does to a bee!

Kenzo Amour

The slow and sensuous journey of a couple through Asia, punctuated by encounters, bursts of laughter and smiles, soft sensations, pictures and perfumes brimming with life. A bird accompanies them, symbolizing the flare of love and the freedom of traveling. This is the beautiful envisioning of Kenzo for the gentle, sensuous Amour fragrance, a celebration of life and love expressed in creamy and exotic florals.

Top Notes: Frangipani, Heliotrope. Heart Notes: White Tea, Cherry Blossom, Rice. Base Notes: Thanaka Wood, Vanilla, Musk. contribute to this musky floral scent.

Paul Smith Rose

Bring a little romance into your day with this beautiful fragrance from Paul Smith, inspired by a pink bloom of the same name.  Spring fragrance and florals go hand-in-hand in the beauty world, with fresh bouquet notes proving the perfect accompaniment to the warmer months. Paul Smith’s Rose certainly looks the part, but brings a modern edge to traditional rose-based scents and is a delightfully floral scent with rose at its heart, blended with Turkish rose oil and green tea. Touches of cedar provide an appealing base note.

Chloé for Women

This is one of my all time favourite fragrances and one that I spent a rather long time saving up for!  Chloé for Women embodies elements most loved about the French fashion house’s distinct style. The bottle has a vintage look, based on the classic Chloé blouse, and with the feminine addition of a hand tied ribbon at the cap. For the scent, it is all about the rose, with notes of lily of the valley, warm amber, honey and cedarwood adding to the floral bloom.

Banana Republic Jade

Launched in 2006, Banana Republic Jade is classified as a fresh, floral fragrance that is perfect for the spring and summer months.  Recommended for everyday wear, this stunning scent is a blend of aromatic florals and features notes of pomegranate and passion fruit that have been combined to make a delicate scent that is so gentle on the nose but will stand out from the crowd.  It is beautifully presented in a solid wooden box that has been finished with a jade band to give it, and you, a touch of elegance that will last all day long.

The fragrance features pomegranate and passionfruit.

Valentino Valentina

Enter a new era of sumptuous Valentino femininity with the Valentino Valentina Eau de Parfum, a statement for those who are free and impulsive. The beautiful floral oriental shimmers with classic Italian ingredients: zesty essences and unexpected luxurious notes that melt onto the skin. Valentino Valentina is the scent of a young heiress who lives her life to its fullest potential. A daring and addictive blend that captures a mischievous couture spirit.

Top Notes: Calabrian Bergamot, Alba Truffle Heart Notes: Amalfi Orange Blossom, Wild Strawberry Base Notes: Cedarwood, Amber

And of course – One for the Men!

Gucci – Guilty Pour Homme

Made for the man who knows what he wants, this fragrance is a powerful mix of excitement, allure, and sensuality. It awakens the senses with a burst of zesty lemon, cool lavender, and spicy pink pepper. The subtle heart notes then reinforce the fragrance’s clean freshness, creating a bridge to the sensual and provocative woodiness in the base. As it dries down, the scent focuses the hallmark of all Gucci fragrances, patchouli, and mingles alluringly with cedar, sandalwood, and amber. The overall effect is young, stylish, and sexy—a bold and uncompromising fragrance that captures the essence of Gucci.
Fresh. Sensual.

So there you go! I know there are many of these types of blogs out there with everyone suggesting what they think is a perfect  fragrance for spring – to be honest these aren’t my favourite types of blogs to write for that very reason – I don’t like to do and be the same as everyone else!  It would be a crime if I didn’t at least share my knowledge and wisdom with you though! I’m so excited that I can soon be wearing chloe and some gorgeous spring fragrances once again – I do love a musky wintry smell but I am more than ready for some sunshine and a spring in my step – hope you are too!

Until next time, lots of love and frisky cuddles!
