Isn’t it annoying when that lovely perfume just can’t seem to stay on? This week we’re bringing you 3 amazing tips for making your fav fragrance last longer.
The longevity of a fragrance can depend on a lot of different things, like the concentration of perfume oil (always go for an Eau de Parfum if you want a strong scent) the quality of the blend and your skin type. If you wear a certain scent often you might also become nose-blind to it, which can make you feel that it’s not lasting very long. Before you try any of these tips, make sure to ask a friend if they can smell the perfume on you – you might be surprised!
1. Know Where To Aim!
Heat increases the scent of perfume and spraying some on your pulse points will increase the longevity and intensity of your favourite frag. These are the wrists, the throat, behind your ear, behind the knees and on the inside of your elbow.
2. Resist The Urge To Rub!
A lot of people tend to spray fragrance on their wrists and then start rubbing them together like a caveman making a fire. Some claim that it makes it smell better, while other say that it helps the perfume to be absorbed into the skin. The truth is that friction only causes the scent molecules to break up which will result in a less intense fragrance. The best way to ensure perfume gets absorbed is to spray it on and leave it on the skin.
An excellent way to to make sure your scent lasts the whole day through is to prep your skin by applying some moisturiser beforehand. Regular vaseline works really well, or you could all the way and use a body lotion perfumed with your favourite scent, they usually come in gifts sets and we’ve got loads in stock!
