Comme des Garçons Aftershave & Men's Fragrance

Comme des Garçons was established by Rei Kawakubo and is now owned by her and her husband Adrian Joff. The name is French for "Like The Boys". The Japanese fashion brand founded in 1969 only released women's wear in the first nine years of manufacturing. With the growth of their popularity they expanded their product collection, eventually adding a men's collection in 1978. While their main collection is seen as avant-garde and Parisian, most younger people will recognise the minority of their items that take inspiration from the Japanese streetwear.

Never going too far from home, all products are designed in Aoyama, Tokyo. However, some products are made in Europe. Besides being loved by many fashion enthusiast and celebrities including Alexander McQueen, Usher and John Waters, other brands love Comme des Garçons' unique creations just as much. Having collaborated with over 15 other brands it's clear that Comme des Garçons don't mind mingling with luxury and high street brands alike. Noteworthy collaborations are their partnerships with Moncler, Louis Vuitton and H&M.

While majority of the Comme des Garçons fragrances are aimed at both men and women, they have produced some hidden treasures that are just meant for men. The very first Comme des Garcons fragrance for men was the eponymous Comme des Garçons Eau de Cologne (1994) housed in their signature slanted bottle. This spice and balsamic cologne is unique and not for the faint of heart with its mix of incense and styrax resting on a base of bergamot and aldehyde. Successor Comme des Garçons 2 Man (2004) was released exactly 10 years later. Packaged in the same bottle the two can be differentiated by the scent and colour. Comme des Garçons 2 Man contains more woody notes and has a brown tinge, whereas the original Eau de Cologne is green.
