Lonsdale Aftershave & Men's Fragrance
Lonsdale was founded in memory of the British aristocrat Hugh Cecil Lowter, the Earl of Lonsdale who had a great love for sport. Aside from being the president of Arsenal Football in the 1930's the Earl was also very keen on boxing and his father actually introduced the world to the boxing glove which he started having people use at matches he arranged – in the UK he is known as the founder of modern boxing. 30 years later a former boxer by the name of Bernard Hart started selling boxing equipment from a store in Soho, London. He named the store Lonsdale London in honour of the earl and got his sons approval. With time the brand would become one of the main boxing brands and was used by the top fighters in the world including Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson.
Not long after opening the brand started selling casual wear with their logo and these shirts would go to have a career of their own. Originally made hip by London-based musicians like Paul McCartney and Paul Weller, the Lonsdale t-shirt would go on to be popular through the 80's and 90's and has been worn by numerous celebrities and sportsmen. The iconic lion logo remains a British icon to this day.
Lonsdale has released an Eau de Toilette that captures the excitement of the boxing ring in a fresh Eau de Toilette with rousing notes of zesty grapefruit, apricot and lemon, floral notes and a woody base. The fragrance is available in a gift set with a 150ml shower gel with the same fragrance.
