Karl Lagerfeld Perfume & Women's Fragrance

Karl Lagerfeld is an enigmatic German-born fashion designer who is known for his collections for Chanel, Fendi, Chloé and many more. He grew up in Germany but moved to Paris after finishing school. Even though German design and styles seem close to his heart he mostly speaks French and has lived in the country for most of his life. Lagerfeld first rose to fame after designing for Jean Patou and has since then created couture and collections for all kinds of brands.

Unlike other well-known designers, Lagerfeld has not stuck to one house over the years, not even his own. Instead he seems to prefer trying out different things and he has created couture, ready-to-wear and even outlet clothing for houses and brands like Chloé, Fendi, Diesel, H&M, Orrefors and a wealth of plays and operas. He is known for being a workaholic and he usually designs around 15 collections a year, not counting custom fittings, exhibitions and decorative work as well as accessories like watches, sunglasses and bags. He has also created interiors and even architectural designs for some of the world's most exclusive hotels. Lagerfeld has turned himself into an artwork as well, donning a constant uniform consisting of a dark suit with a popped collar, powdered white hair, sunglasses and black gloves. It's extremely rare to see him without these accoutrements and he has turned his signature look into part of his brand.

There have been Lagerfeld fragrances in circulation since the late 70's but the first Karl Lagerfeld perfume created exclusively for women was released in 1994. Sun Moon Stars is an oriental scent with bergamot, pineapple and peach on a heart of florals like jasmine, daffodil, carnation and iris on a base of woods, musk and vanilla. It mixes elegant and mysterious oriental floral notes with a sweet and very feminine feel. The wittily titled Karleidoscope (2011) blends classic floral notes with more modern powdery influences.
