Salvatore Ferragamo Perfume & Women's Fragrance

Salvatore Ferragamo was an Italian designer who was active in the 30's and 40's. After his passing in 1960 his company was taken over by the Ferragamo family who have run the company ever since. The brand is known for it's luxury shoes, accessories and fragrances.

Ferragamo was born in Naples but moved to the United States as a young man along with his brothers. Many Italians went west in the early 1900's, hoping to find a better life on the frontier. Salvatore Ferragamo had been involved with shoes his entire life and after his brother found him a job at a Massachusetts shoe factory he was able to turn footwear to fortune when he opened up a shop in Hollywood. The amazing quality of Ferragamos shoes made waves in tinsel-town and soon he was making shoes for all the big stars of the time.

After more than a decade in the US Ferragamo decided to move back to Italy and he was able to open a luxurious boutique in Florence which catered to all the big stars of the time. Customers included Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland and Eva Peron. As the business grew the quality of the shoes stayed intact as Ferragamo made sure each pair was handmade with the utmost care.

He also invented many completely new types of shoes and techniques, including the so-called caged heel shoe which is still a red carpet favourite. After Ferragamo passed away in 1960 the company carried on with his wife and children at the helm, eventually becoming a large multinational but staying a family company to his day. His daughter Fiamma Ferragamo carried on the inventive spirit of the company and made many innovations of her own.

Pour Femme (1998) was the very first Salvatore Ferragamo perfume. It's a sophisticated floral with accords of wood, grass and fresh fruit. Another very popular Salvatore Ferragamo fragrance for women is Incanto For Women (2003), a scent inspired by Ferragamos love of all things beautiful. With peach, plum, red lily and ambrette this is a soft, elegant and very feminine perfume. It has been released in several new versions since the release, including Incanto Shine (2007), Incanto Heaven (2007) and Incanto Bloom (2014). Emozione (2015) is a fresh and powdery floral and notes of iris, peony and heliotrope give that classic female elegance we've come to expect from Ferragamo perfumes.
