Vaseline was launched in 1859 by Robert Chesebrough. It all started when he travelled to Pennsylvania to investigate an oil well. When he arrived at the well he that the workers were having problems with a substance called rod wax that caused the rigs to seize up. However they would also use some of it on cuts and wounds to help them to heal faster. So Chesebrough brought some home to study it out of curiosity.

After some experiments with it he managed to create what we now know as petroleum jelly. Just 10 years down the line everyone in the country would have a jar of the product. In 1880 the product was selling in large amounts worldwide and was recognized as the standard remedy for skin problems as well as serving many other purposes.

Vasline has a multitude of uses and has been used for skincare, haircare, lubrication and cleaning just to name a few.
